Those on the hunt for lively and novel entertainment need look no further than Las Ventas, the largest bullfighting ring in Spain. This venue host bull fights between the months of March and October. If this is a bit much, Madrid is host to many street festivals starting with Carnival in February and ending with Virgen de la Almudena festivities in November. San Isidro Labrador is Madrid's largest festival and takes place in mid May.

Madrid nightlife is extensive and has several districts with a thriving club scene. The Chueca district, best known as the gay quarter of the city, is a favored hot spot for clubs and discos. Moncloa is a trendy spot for bars and pubs. For a rated PG evening Madrid offers late night coffee or tapas bars where you can catch a poetry reading or an impromptu concert.
