Dubai

Dubai is an emerging tourist destination, rich with ancient and modern attractions. Its futuristic and intriguing architecture, along with mind-blowing concepts, makes Dubai a phenomenal destination for design enthusiasts and shopaholics. In addition to being an up and coming metropolitan area with phenomenal shopping potential, Dubai has recently entered into the water park industry with some amazing water parks Atlantis (in Dubai), Wild Wadi and Adventure Water Park. Dubai’s booming economy enables the city to consistently drive itself towards perfection.

Dubai, Located in the United Arab Emirates, is an architectural and economical landmark in Europe. The concepts that Dubai is working on almost seem indescribable. Dubai's architects possess both innovation and imagination. Using these qualities, designs and blueprints are already in the production for future major attractions such as Dubailand and Dubai Sports city, both development ideas that the world has never seen before. On top of that, the current landmarks in Dubai are extraordinarily breathtaking as well. The most decorated, and largest landmark for that matter is the Burj Dubai. Located in the heart of the city, this skyscraper that opened in 2009, is the largest building in the world. Designs of a taller building at this point in our lifetime seem impossible. To give you an idea as to how large the Burj is: if one combined the Willis Tower in Chicago and the Empire State Building in New York, it would equivocate the height of the Burj. Another one of Dubai's main attractions is “The World.” This accumulation of 300 manmade islands was constructed to resemble an exact two-dimensional replica of the earth. Visible from space, “The Earth” is a must-see for any tourist and a future expansion for eco-tourism. Another manmade landmark in Dubai is the Dubai Marina; the world's largest manmade marina located right off the coast of the city. Along with the current landmarks, Dubai's ideas for the future are astonishing. One being Dubailand, the concept to create multiple worlds in one city that is specific to a destination or activity. Worlds include: Attractions and Experience World, Retail and Entertainment World, Themes Leisure and Vacation World, Eco-Tourism World, Sports and Outdoor World and Downtown. This is a four-phase project that is predicted to be complete throughout this next decade. Another new construction is the Dubai Metro, a futuristic city projected to have 15 million visitors in 2010. What makes this city so unique is the absence of drivers. A fully automated rail network does all travel. Although Dubai provides fantastic architecture, its shopping culture is second to none. With its residents paying no income or salary tax, it causes a large amount of money to be cycled through the economy, allowing for shops to upkeep the highest quality of good and services. Dubai is notoriously known to be a “Shoppers Paradise” with its reasonable prices for merchandise that can be found anywhere in the world. Not only do shops stock up on the highest end of designer clothing, but 18 and 22 carat gold is sold for half the price it is worth anywhere else.
